DivisionScientific Affairs
The Scientific Affairs Division is considered one of the core divisions at the College of Petroleum Process Engineering. It is responsible for organizing and monitoring scientific and research activities within the college in alignment with its academic objectives and its specialized focus on the petroleum industry. The main tasks of the division are as follows:
Organization and Monitoring of Scientific Activities

Supervising the organization of seminars, discussion panels, and specialized workshops in the fields of petroleum and gas engineering.

Coordinating the organization of scientific conferences at local and international levels in collaboration with academic departments.

Monitoring the academic participation of faculty members in external events.
Support and Documentation of Scientific Research

Following up on faculty research plans and encouraging the publication of scientific studies in reputable journals.

Documenting academic output, including research papers, studies, and scientific contributions.

Preparing and facilitating the requirements for supporting research by liaising with relevant bodies within and outside the university.
Postgraduate Affairs (if applicable)

Organizing and monitoring postgraduate programs in petroleum engineering specializations.

Coordinating with academic departments regarding research plans, supervision, and students’ scientific discussions.
Contribution to Curriculum Development

Monitoring the update of academic programs in coordination with departments to align with developments in the oil and energy sector.

Reviewing proposals for curriculum development and submitting them to the relevant authorities.
Monitoring Academic Promotions

Receiving and reviewing academic promotion files of faculty members to ensure compliance with requirements and regulations.

Preparing correspondence related to scientific evaluation committees and submitting recommendations to the University Presidency.
External Scientific Coordination

Establishing academic relations and collaborations with engineering colleges, oil companies, and research centers within Iraq and abroad.

Monitoring scientific agreements, as well as academic and training exchange programs.
