The College of Petroleum Operations Engineering organized a training course, in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education, entitled:
“Carbon Dioxide Emission Reduction Technologies”
held on Monday and Tuesday, September 29–30, 2025.
The course covered two main themes:
- The first theme reviewed the damages caused by the increase in carbon emissions, including global warming and drought, as well as the major challenges hindering their reduction, and the international treaties signed in this regard.
- The second theme focused on explaining the most important methods that contribute to reducing such emissions, including carbon capture, clean energy, afforestation, and others.
The lectures were delivered by:

- Assist. Prof. Dr. Moayad Abd Shihab
- Assist. Lecturer Ayoub Ibrahim Mohammed
The Dean and the attendees commended the efforts of the lecturers and the valuable information they provided, wishing them continued success and achievement.
