Lecturer Omar Faeq published a scientific research paper in collaboration with a group of Russian researchers entitled:
“Upgrading and Desulfurization of Extra-Heavy Oil Using a Water-Soluble Nickel Sulfate under Different Reaction Times: 2D-GCMS Deep Insights alongside Further Complementary Technical Analysis.”
The research was published in the journal Chemical Engineering Science, which is ranked within the first quartile (Q1) and indexed in the Scopus database, with a CiteScore of 7.9.
The study focused on investigating the effect of using novel water-soluble catalysts at different reaction times for the upgrading of extra-heavy oil. Advanced analytical techniques were employed to evaluate the effectiveness of the experimental processes and to provide deeper technical insights into the desulfurization and upgrading mechanisms.
